This band is an unknown to me and I chose to review this album on its name only, I have to say I'm glad I did!  This is some solid music right here and 5FDP as they are known, definitely live up to their brutal name.

‘The Way Of The Fist’ is a rollercoaster of a metal album that will appeal to most metalheads as it’s got something for everyone.  When listening I want to say Punk Metal, but really not.  To compare to other sounds, perhaps if you mixed Slipknot, Pantera and Machine Head in a shaker and poured it into a chilled glass you might get an idea of this ice clear album.  Above all they stand on their own, with angry lyrics and music they are a tight unit.

I love the fact I can understand Ivan Moody singing, he certainly has a vocal range that surpasses many other bands attempt's at injecting emotion into their songs through cleanly sung passages.  What does come as a surprise is the clarity of his delivery, especially when it comes to the harsh vocals; every word is clearly understood.  This strongly enhances the appeal of this album, I like to be able to hear vocals.  Being able to easily understand the words I can truly listen to the music and appreciate the instrumental input that Zoitan Bathory (guitar), Jeremy Spencer (drums), Matt Snell (bass) and Darrell Roberts (guitar) all contribute.  I have to say I like harmonies and melodic music and this delivers on both at times.  All the musicians on this album are talented.  It is easy to pick out the individual instruments and the shifts are smooth and effective, it all combines to make me air drum in my chair.

I have read they have a new album out later this year, I am looking forward to it.
